Co2 Fractioned Laser

Take years off your appearance with the Co2 Fractioned Laser.

The Fractional Co2 laser is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment used to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles and acne scars as well as reducing open pores and pigmentation while improving skin texture and blotchiness.

Along with the face and neck the fractional laser also excels at rejuvenating the décolletage area, hands and more delicate areas such as eyelid skin.

How does the fractional laser work?

The fractional laser uses a device to deliver a laser beam and fractionates that beam into thousands of tiny little dots of light to penetrate top skin layers. The light energy then repairs those tiny dots by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production, resurfacing the top skin layer and smoothing wrinkles and scars.

The treatment is suitable for all skin types.

The majority of patients see increased skin tone after the first treatment. You may also notice any pigmentation marks have faded after one single treatment, though two may be necessary to see the effects.

What can I expect during a Co2 laser treatment?

Prior to treatment we’ll assess your individual requirements with a consultation. At this consultation we’ll discuss the number of treatments required, depending on the condition of your skin and your desired end result.

Typically there is no need for sedation and for majority of patients an anaesthetic cream will suffice. The cream is applied to the treatment area.

The treatment takes around 90 minutes and a slight stinging sensation may be felt throughout.

Post-treatment patients may experience a sunburn sensation which will resolve shortly after. Compared to full skin ablation treatments seen in the past, there is a significant reduction of post-treatment discomfort and downtime to around 10 days. Some swelling may be experienced for the first couple of days and the skin will then take on a pinkish tone. Moisturising cream and a high SPF sunscreen will also need to be used.

How long do results last?

As laser stimulates the production of collagen you will notice a progressive improvement in your skin for at least six months after your last treatment.

With good sun protection and good overall general health with no smoking, the effects of your fractional Co2 laser treatment can continue for several years.
