Urodynamics

At FBW Gynaecology Plus, our clinicians perform urodynamic studies to assess how well your bladder and urethra are functioning. This specialised test measures how your bladder stores and empties urine, providing valuable information that cannot be obtained through symptoms alone.

Urodynamic testing may be recommended if you experience urinary incontinence, urgency, frequent urination, difficulty emptying your bladder, or other lower urinary tract symptoms.

During the procedure, fine catheters are gently inserted into the bladder and, in some cases, the rectum to measure bladder pressures as the bladder is filled and emptied. The test is performed in our consulting rooms, usually takes around 30 minutes, and provides detailed information about your bladder function.

The results help our clinicians identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and guide the most appropriate treatment. Depending on the findings, this may include pelvic floor physiotherapy, lifestyle modifications, medication, or surgical management.

Our clinicians will explain the procedure, discuss your results, and work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan aimed at improving your bladder health and quality of life.
